Instructors are dancers who have trained for many years, had performance experience of their own, and are required to participate in continuing dance education on a yearly basis.
Miss Tianna Beniak started dancing at the age of three at Zumbrota Dance Studio near her hometown. Thoughout school, she continued taking classes as well as competing on her high school's dance team and also performing in theatre productions. During her feshman year of high school, Miss Tianna moved to Fusion Dance. While there, Miss Tianna competed on the senior competition team. She trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary and musical theatre. During her first year of college, Miss Tianna taught at Northfield Dance Academy. She is currently a student at St. Olaf College and is double majoring in dance and exercise science. She also competes on the St. Olaf Dance Team and is a team captain.
Miss Maria Boscaino has danced, performed, taught and directed for many years, training in New York City and throughout the country. She taught at West Side Dance Project in New York for ten years before moving to the Minneapolis area, where she has taught for many years. Most of her personal training has been in Cechetti ballet; however, she also uses exercises from both the Italian and Russian (Vaganova) schools. Her modern classes and workshops are in the choreography of Isadora Duncan. She is the artistic director, choreographer, dancer and founder of the American Heritage Dance Company. Miss Maria has appeared with the Dances of Isadora Duncan in the New York City area and has danced with the B.M.C.C. Dance Company at Clark Center, City Center, and schools in New York. Her students have gone on to study and/or work at at a variety of places such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Minnesota Ballet and the University of Minnesota.
Mr Bruce DeMorrow trained at Woodbury Dance Center in Woodbury, MN. His energetic approach to tap classes along with his new, cutting-edge choreography at a fast and upbeat pace leaves his students feeling full of life. Mr Bruce was a competition dancer for many years at Woodbury Dance Center and has won numerous awards. He has had a variety of involvement with outside tap dance companies and is an experienced performer and choreographer. He recently performed with Kaleena Miller's Shift and Here Now performances and with Rhythmic Circus in their Feet Don't Fail Me Now critically acclaimed show. Mr. Bruce is also very active with the Twin Cities Tap Festival.
Miss Heather Flueger danced ballet, tap and jazz from age 2 to age 18 and performed gymnastics from age 2 to age 15. Beginning at the age of 15, Miss Heather taught gymnastics for 25 years until she was pregnant with her daughter. She has worked locally for YMCA gymnastics, Red Wing Community Education gymnastics and the Red Wing Gymnastics Association. She enjoys working with children and teaching them tumbling, balance, strength and flexibility. Miss Heather is looking forward to working with students at Fusion Dance!
Miss Erin Fritz trained at Fusion Dance starting at age 7 and continuing through her graduation from Red Wing High School. She has also attended various dance workshops in Red Wing, Eagan, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Las Vegas and classes at The Edge Performing Arts Center (Hollywood, CA). Miss Erin has completed many years of Assistant Training and Instructor Training through Fusion Dance. She has been honored to guest teach at studio wokshops in Rochester, MN and Algona, IA, and has been a guest assistant at studios in Rochester, Eagan and Alexandria, MN. During her peforming years, Miss Erin dance competitively and was invited to dance as an outstanding dancer, received competition title awards and pefomed in the Nutcracker with the Coontinental Ballet out of Bloomington, MN. During her first year of college, she was employed as a Dance Instructor at Dance Vision in Johnston, IA. Miss Erin is currently attending the University of Wisconsin River Falls. She is passionate about helping kids grow in and out of the classroom and is looking forward to another great season with the Fusion Family.
Miss Courtney Hren began dancing at Woodbury Dance Center in Woodbury, MN and attended the Perpich Center for Arts Education. Following graduation, she continued her dance training at Broadway Dance Center in New York, NY, performing in shows such as Voices and Visions and DRA (Dancers Resisting Aids). Miss Courtney was then awarded a dance scholarship to study at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA. While in California, she was featured in The Carnival Choreographer's Ball, a dance show by top professional choreographers in the video, music and film industry. She has also performed in many industrial shows and an independent film, Spelling Bee. Her extensive training across the nation leads to her dance excellence and versatility in choreography.
Miss Tammi Iverson has been teaching dance for much of her life at various studios in the Minnesota metro area. She teaches a wide variety of classes, but is primarily a ballet instructor. Miss Tammi believes ballet technique in many forms is the foundation of dance. Miss Tammi grew up dancing at local studios since she was three. Dance has always been a focus in her life. In addition to dance studio training as a child, she was part of the alpha class dance program at The Perpich Center for Arts Education, a ballet and modern based Arts High School, and continued her training as an adult at Zenon Dance Company and Dance School. It wasn’t long before Miss Tammi realized that the joy of dance came from teaching, and she decided to become a full-time dance educator and instructor. Sharing her knowledge of many forms of dance, her creativity and positive energy continues to educate and inspire dancers of all ages.
Miss Abby Plein graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Recreation Sports Management and a minor in coaching. While working at a YMCA in the Minnapolis/St. Paul area, Miss Abby developed a Creative Movement dance class which she then implemented at other YMCAs around the state of Minnesota. In 2012, she moved to Red Wing with her family who includes her husband and three children. In 2015, Miss Abby began offering her Creative Movement class to students at Fusion Dance. Teaching this class allows Miss Abby to see children learn and grow through play and being silly. This puts a smile on her face...and allows Miss Abby to act like a kid as well!
Miss Missy Plein has trained at Fusion Dance, Sol Pointe Dance Studio and Lagervall Dance Studio, all in Red Wing, MN, and at The Edge Performing Arts Center (Hollywood, CA). She has attended various dance workshops in Red Wing, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago and Las Vegas. Miss Missy has taught at studios in Edina and Hastings, MN, guest taught at studios in Eagan, Rosemount, and Rochester, MN, and has been a workshop assistant at studios in Andover, Eden Prairie, Grand Rapids, Mankato and Shoreview, MN. Miss Missy is also a competition judge with Bravo National Dance and Talent Competition. She has danced with the Statewide Dance Standout dancers under the direction of Miss Courtney Hren, danced with the American Heritage Dance Company under the direction of Miss Maria Buscaino and performed with Colleen McClelland's dance troupe for the Red Wing Shoe Company Centennial Celebration. Miss Missy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Mathematics and Language Arts, and a minor in Pyschology, and recently completed a Master of Education degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN. She currently teaches 5th grade students at Pine Island School District.
Miss Kelsy Rezansoff began her dance training at three years old at Carrousel of Dance in Morton, IL. She moved to Red Wing, MN, as a young child and continued her dance training at Fusion Dance. She went through their classroom assistant training and within a few years also went through their instructor training program. Miss Kelsy began team teaching and then had classrooms of her own students. Miss Kelsy is now returning to the classroom to share her love of dance with the young students at Fusion Dance! Miss Kelsy has traveled to Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago and Las Vegas to train with instuctors at various conventions. She is a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate with a degree in Mass Communications - Public Relations.
Miss Tami Sevlie has danced for over thirty years and trained at Ashley Ballet Arts Academy (Edina, MN), Minnesota Dance Theatre (Minneapolis, MN), Twin Cities Ballet (Lakeville, MN), St Paul City Ballet (St. Paul, MN), Fusion Dance (Red Wing, MN), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing, MN), River Falls Ballet (River Falls, WI), Cross Current Dance Company (Minneapolis, MN), North Dakota Ballet Company (University of ND, Grand Forks, ND), and Venschka Dance Studio (Bismarck, ND). She has also attended dance workshops at Omega Dance (Red Wing), Sol Pointe Dance Studio (Red Wing) and Christian Choreography (Minneapolis, MN). Miss Tami works with teen and adult ballet students. In the past, she has also directed the New River Worship Dance Team.
Miss M.C. Smith began dancing at the age of ten at Fusion Dance and quickly moved over to competitive dance until she graduated from high school. She has attended dance conventions and workshops in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago and Kansas City. During college at Mankato State University, she dance for two years on the college dance team. Miss M.C. has taught at Fusion Dance (Red Wing, MN) and Dance Express (Mankato, MN). She is a licensed special education teacher and holds an ABS Degree (Academic Behavioral Strategist) from Mankato State University. Miss M.C. currently teaches special education at Pine Island Elementary School.
Miss Mary Plein is the owner of Fusion Dance. She holds accounting, business administration and computer science degrees from Winona State University where she graduated Magna cum laude. Citizens Security Mutual Insurance Company employed Mary for nearly thirteen years. In her last position, she was Vice President of Finance. She was with the Company as it grew from a small mutual insurer to a multi-company entity. Following her time in the insurance industry, Ms. Plein was a independent consultant, specializing in financial and corporate communication consulting. She then spent eight years as the Executive Director of the United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha & Pierce Counties.
