Children move to music and engage in creative play filled with songs, rhymes and activities that are age appropriate. The content enhances each child's motor and cognitive development, sense of musicality and body awareness - an excellent first step towards future dance and music disciplines. The class is open to dancers 18 months through 3 years of age.

Ballet and tap movement teach ballet positions and terminology, stress development in awareness of hand and arm movements, strengthen basic rhythm movements and introduce tap sounds. The emphasis is on joy of movement and dance in a learning atmosphere with direction from the instructor and class participation. The class is open to dancers at least 3 years old as of September 1. Dancers learn dance in a fun, encouraging environment. This class provides an opportunity for children with special needs to participate in dance education. Through the class, dancers gain confidence, coordination and strength. The class will be taught by a Minnesota licensed special education instructor and have classroom assistants. If a child has profound needs, a parent or paraprofessional is asked to be in the classroom with the dancer. Shoes: Comfortable shoes (black shoes for performance)Costume: $80, one costume

Students are invited to this class by their ballet instructor and must take Ballet III in conjunction with this class. Dancers begin in soft shoe with exercises to strength their ankles and increase their technique. When approved by the instructor, students will purchase pointe shoes to continue training. Class designed to push kids further in their strength, flexibility and technique, help them set goals, teach them the proper way to stretch. We will be working a lot on how to use technique while stretching.

Competition companies are made up of students that have auditioned and were accepted to a company. Competition students pay for unlimited classes and an additional fee for more than three group routines. Optional classes are also available in other disciplines, expanding the dancer's world of dance, making them a well-rounded dancer.
